Custer (4-0) at Belle Fourche (3-0); Jimmy Predicts

The crystal ball has reflected a fantastic Black Hill Conference battle with 11B Custer (4-0) traveling to 11A Belle Fourche (3-0). This is the ‘Game of the Week’ without doubt.

    Game Notes for Belle Fourche:
*Home opener and expecting huge crowd.
*Defense is giving up only 10.3 ppg.
    *Offense is scoring 23.7 ppg.
*Beat 11AA Sturgis on the road, 26-7.
*A win over Custer puts them one game (STM on Oct. 20) away from a BHC title.
    *Ranked 5th in Class 11A.

    Game Notes for Custer:
*First real test on the road.
*Defense is giving up just 7.5 ppg.
    *Offense is scoring 38.5 ppg.
*A win over Belle sets up a huge match-up next weekend with Thomas More!
*Received votes in the last 11B Poll.

    Let’s get to the match-up:

    Chris Dschaak
will need to keep the chains moving against this up and coming Custer defense. Dschaak, 5’11 Sr., has been in charge of a new spread offense that has two solid running backs that will keep the Cats defense honest.

Chase Glazier will be at the helm for Custer. Glazier has been solid finding his receivers and he does not typically throw interceptions. He will have a very solid run support against a blitz happy Belle Fourche defense. Glazier, 6’4 So., will need good line support to keep a balanced attack in place for 4 quarters.

    Running Backs:

Senior Trevor Schryvers will split carries with Sr. Tyler Schultz. Schultz is powerful weighing in at 225 lbs. He is a new addition to the team after taking a year off to focus on throwing (shot and discuss). Schriyvers is a very fast and strong 6’0, 185 lb Sr. These two will provided a solid one-two punch for Wildcats.

Seniors Tate Thybo and Austin Kudlock will be carrying the pigskin for the Broncs. Thybo is strong and at fullback has opened some big holes leading the way for the versatile tailback, Kudlock. These two running backs will need to come up big to allow Coach Adam Nowowiejski to run his new spread offense. Spread offense at Belle Fourche?

Chad Bryant will be the go to guy for Glazier and the Wildcats. He is a sure handed receiver and has the ability to make big plays. The  6’2 senior will be relied on heavily to help take pressure off the run game.

Belle Fouche will spread out with 5 wide occasionally using the two running backs and a host of other receivers. One notable receiver will be 5’11 senior, Ben Bowman. The Broncs will need receivers to come up with some big plays down field to keep the chains moving.

    Common Opponents:
    Lead/Deadwood 0 at Belle Fourche 14
    Lead/Deadwood 0 at Custer 39

    Jimmy the Buzzard Prediction:

       Belle Fourche 26
          Custer 20

Jimmy is being kind to the Cats. Not going to be that close.
