    USD WBB announces summer camp dates

    VERMILLION, S.D.–South Dakota women’s basketball will hold four summer camps in the state-of-the-art Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Registration for the June camps is available online now.

    Options are available for players of three different age groups.

    The Yippin Yotes Camp for grades K-5 will be held from June 5-7. Each day’s session will last from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with an emphasis on teaching the basic skills of basketball. The registration fee of $80 includes individual instruction from Division I coaches and athletes along with a free basketball and T-shirt.

    The Junior High Elite Camp for grades 5-8 will be held June 26-28. The three-day camp provides players the opportunity to improve their fundamentals through drills, competition and 5-on-5 games. The camp will focus on passing, ball handling, shooting, and offensive/defensive concepts of the game. The resident camp fee of $275 includes meals, room and board and a camp T-shirt. There are additional price options available for commuters.

    The Coyote Elite Camp is for advanced high school players wanting to compete at the next level. The camp takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 12. The session includes the same fundamental skill and development drills utilized by USD’s women’s basketball team daily. It will be packed with high intensity teaching and competition. The camp fee of $75 includes individualized attention from Division I coaches and athletes along with a free T-shirt.

    USD will also host a Team Camp for freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams. The camp attracts teams from various regional states, providing an opportunity to face unfamiliar opponents. The two-day camp is held June 19-20 and offers a five-game guarantee for $330. A single day, three-game guarantee is available for $210.
