BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Augustana wrestling team was voted to finish in third in the NSIC Preseason rankings that were released on Tuesday. Senior Aero Amo was named the Vikings wrestler to watch by the league office.

Last season, the Vikings had a dual record of 12-7 (6-2 NSIC) and finished third in the conference. Augustana is tied with Minnesota State for third in the NSIC with 48 points. St. Cloud State was tabbed as the favorites with 64 points and eight first place votes and Upper Iowa is slated in second with 53 points and one first place vote.

MSU Moorhead (36 points), U-Mary (24), Northern State (23), SMSU (18) and Minot State (10) round out the rankings.

Amo, a native of Rapid City, S.D., was the Augustana wrestler to watch after posting a 38-9 record last season and earning All-American honors. Amo is a two-time regional champ and a three-time All-NSIC recipient.

The Vikings open their season on Sunday, Nov. 5 at the Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D. with the meet beginning at 9 a.m.
