nice article but white river was actually runner up twice in 08-09 and 10-11. so points wise they tied STM with 5 also. both at the time, STM and WR were the best teams in west river but I say white river is a tick better at the run they made from 07-08 season until the 12-13 season. White river went to the state championship games for 6 straight seasons and won 4 and runner up twice. STM only made it to two championship games and a runner up during that period. it could have been 5 state titles but lost to sully buttes by 1 (74-73). during that span, no other team has been in 6 straight championship games since going to a three-class system which still stands today. only team close was Custer who did it 5 times from 89-93 and won 4 state championship and runner up once. WR posted a 140-16 record while STM posted a 129-13 record in those 6 years. WR has also been at the State B for 12 straight years which no other teams has done. again both STM and WR are the preeminent teams in Western SD. no one else is close. and yes I didn't forget that STM did beat WR in there only match up.

Good catch on the WR runner up oversight. It's a tie!
