USD FB: Coyotes perform for NFL scouts on Pro Day

BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota quarterback Chris Streveler along with teammates Brandt Van Roekel, Josh Hale, Alonge Brooks, Adam Harris and Brandon Godsey all performed in front of NFL scouts from all 32 teams at a college football Pro Day hosted by South Dakota State University inside the Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Streveler, the Missouri Valley Football Conference Most Valuable Player and a first-team All-American who rewrote the record books last season, turned in some of the most impressive marks amongst any quarterback in the nation, and followed by rifling throws to teammates.

Weighing in at 209 pounds, Streveler ran a 4.45 40-yard dash, had a 125-inch broad jump, and a vertical leap of 38.5 inches. All three of those marks topped all quarterbacks who participated at last month’s NFL combine in Indianapolis. The best marks there were 4.63 seconds in the 40 by South Florida’s Quinton Flowers, and Wyoming’s Josh Allen’s 119-inch broad jump and 33.5-inch vertical. South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert had a 35-inch vertical and a 121-inch broad jump while Jackrabbit receiver Jake Wieneke lept 35-inches and 117-inches, respectively. Wieneke ran the 40 in 4.74 seconds.

Van Roekel, Hale and Brooks ran routes in front of the scouts while Harris performed defensive drills. Godsey, an All-American long snapper, tested out in the bench press, broad jump and vertical, but injured his leg in the 40-yard dash and wasn’t able to snap.
