BHSU Women's Scoccer: Jackets add five more to 2018 squad

SPEARFISH, S.D. - Black Hills State University head women's soccer coach, Mike Greco, has announced the signing of five additional student-athletes for the 2018-19 year.

    Holly Burley
Burley is a 5-5 midfielder from Norwich, England. She is a transfer from Northwest College, where she played for two years and scored three goals.

"Holly is a crafty, forward-thinking attacker," said Coach Greco. "She's tough-minded and has seen herself through some challenges in pursuit of her college goals. That's certainly noteworthy, and our soccer group will benefit dramatically from her personality and leadership. I'm very much looking forward to working with Holly and seeing how much she contributes to our team."

Burley is the daughter of Lisa and Matt Burley. She plans to major in physical education.

    Cecilia Estrada
Estrada, a 5-6 defender/midfielder native of Ramona, California, is a transfer from San Diego Miramar College. As a defender at San Diego Miramar, she scored one goal in two seasons. She was named Second Team All-League her junior and senior years at Ramona High School.

"Cecilia is an ambitious young woman. She understands how to commit and work for what she wants. That attitude and life experience will be an enormous lift for us," said Coach Greco. "I expect Cecilia to make a name for herself right away. I'm super pumped to have her as a part of our group this year."

Estrada is the daughter of Sandra and Jose Estrada. She plans on majoring in business administration.

    Cheyenne Geary
Geary, from Kansas City, Missouri, is a 5-7 midfielder. She played prep soccer at Oak Park High School.

"Cheyenne is a very determined individual. Her academic pursuits, such as photography, will add a bit of diversity to our team, and her strong, physical play will be a boost to last season's youngish roster," said Coach Greco. "I am eager to work with her and see how much she develops and adds to our group over the next four seasons."

Geary, the daughter of Michelle and Roger Geary, plans on majoring in mass communications.

    Teagen Hartley
Hartley is a 5-9 goalkeeper from Watertown, S.D. She was a four-year letter winner, starting for her varsity team beginning in 8th grade. She was a captain at Watertown HS her senior year, and made 395 saves during her prep career.

"Teagen has a very pleasant and kind personality. She'll fit in with our group very easily. She also has a strong sprit, and is determined to reach her goals," said Coach Greco. "I enjoy Teagen's refreshing personality and outlook. She's going to be very important to us. Plus, I'm happy to have representation from my first hometown in South Dakota - Watertown!"

Hartley, the daughter of Stacey Watt, plans to major in biology at BHSU.

    Jessica Schuman
Schuman, a 6-0 defender, is from Mesa, Arizona. She played at Scottsdale Community College, where she played on a defensive line that allowed just 1.22 goals against in 2017, and 0.91 in 2016. She also scored one goal each year.

"Jessica is a strong, smart player who brings a great deal of confidence and leadership to our group," said Coach Greco. "She's a determined personality and has a lot to offer our team and our BH community. I'm really pleased to have her with us this season."

Schuman is the daughter of Jean and Len Schuman.
