It's the end of the basketball season for the St. Thomas More Cavaliers, and what a season it was!!   They managed to accomplish what no other West River team has been able to do, and they did it in an impressive way.   The STM Lady Cavs had an outstanding run at State A and came home with a championship.  Anyone who follows these girls no doubt has witnessed how vital Caitlin Duffy is to the team.  You might have to be living in a cave as of late not to know who she is by now.  She is "all that," as they say, to the Lady Cavs basketball team, but she isn't all they have to offer by any means.

Alexys Swedlund is just a freshman and played this State A tournament looking like an upperclassman.  She is talented beyond her years, and definitely plays with determination and a great understanding of the game.  She was an All Tournament Team selection, and rightfully so.  She won't be filling anyone's shoes next year; rather, she will be "all that" to the Lady Cavs and will most likely pace this team to great heights next year.

It will be hard for the STM fans to watch basketball next year without seniors Duffy, Maddie Merriam, Bri Arity, Jordan Miller, and Tessa Pesicka.  These ladies have worked hard over the last three plus years to shape this team into what it is today.  But just looking down the roster for STM it is apparant that they have much to look forward to.   They have players that have also been working hard alongside the seniors to shape themselves into future champions.

One thing is certain, many will be watching and will be ready for this bright group of girls to hit the court next year.  Moira Duffy and Madison Kirsch played very well this year and have more varsity experience than most sophomores, but STM has a bench of girls just waiting to be "all that" for their team.  To many watching this team play, not only in the State A tournament but throughout the season, know this team is "all that" to their fans and the STM family.  Be proud because you deserve to be.
