    KEEP ON TRUCKIN........

Rapid City Central and Stevens didn't fare well in their respective games over the weekend.  The Central Cobbler girls had a nice shot at Brandon Valley, but came up just short of a win.  Chelsey Biegler continues to be a strong force for the Cobblers, and Ashton Beaird had a good game, with a game high 15 points.  Central wasn't able to stop the more powerful Yankton team, losing by 12.   Chelsey Biegler had a great game, but it just wasn't enough to notch a win for the Cobbers.

The Stevens Raiders also struggled on the  road.  Yankton had a hard time keeping Margaret McCloud down, however.  She scored 20 points and looked strong.  She often is what keeps the Raiders in most of their games.  She's a force underneath, and plays with great confidence.  I was surprised, however, how the Raiders struggled against Brandon Valley.  It appeared no one had a good game, as there were too many turnovers and very little scoring going on by anyone.  Their coach did make a lot of substitutions, knowing the starting crew was struggling, which is a sign of a good coach.  If one can't get it done, give another a try.  That's what your bench is for.  With that approach I suspect the Raiders will find their groove soon enough and get back to winning.
