    RC Sizzle- World Champions!

The Sizzle came from a 0-3 deficit to overcome the negativity and adversity staring them in the face. Beating the Cincy Force (5-0), Texas Turn 2 (3-2), Jacksonville Storm (10-1), Chobee Firestx (2-1), South Florida Contenders (9-2) and getting a rematch in the championship game with the First Coast Fire (7-2) the Sizzle is now the USSSA 18U B division world champions. One of the few to represent South Dakota let alone the Midwest. Many questions were thrown at the team all week asking if they were a traveling all-star team, where they got all the talent, and how can one team have so many good players from South Dakota. It feels good putting South Dakota fast pitch softball on the map and proving we can compete with the world.

Pitcher Sidney Larsen who threw six complete bracket playing games stated, “I love my defense, with a defense like this I don’t feel pressured going against batters because I know they have my back” and that is exactly what the defense did without committing a single error in the final six wins. Sizzle will lose four top players and could not be more proud of going out with a bang. Losing catcher Erica Everson which was named tournament MVP and Larsen which was named pitcher of the tournament this was the best ending to a five year ride.
