    Augustana Men's Golf: Men's golf heads to Brainerd for NSIC Fall Championships

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana men’s golf is set to compete in the first two rounds of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golf Championships on Monday and Tuesday. The fall championships will be played at Madden’s Resort on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minn.

    Tee times are set for 8 a.m. on both days of the tournament.

    The final 36 holes will be played April 13-14 at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.

    Augustana finished sixth at the NSIC Championships last season shooting a 1,238 in the 72-hole tournament. Eric Hieb finished fourth overall with a 13-over-par 297. Luke Robison finished in a tie for 23rd shooting a 29-over 313 while CJ Haukom tied for 26th shooting a 315.

    Haukom currently has the fourth lowest scoring average in the NSIC averaging 74.9 strokes over eight rounds this season. Haukom has registered two top-five and top-10 finishes this season. Kyle Kopplin owns a 75.4 stroke average on the season.

    As a team, Augustana leads the NSIC with a 301.3 stroke average in seven rounds of play.

    Earlier this week, Augustana finished fifth out of eight teams, including six NCAA Division I teams, at the South Dakota State Invite. The Vikings fired a three-round score of 911 (311-299-301). Haukom finished 12th overall shooting a 226. Kyle Kopplin finished in a tie for 14th shooting a 17-over 227. Tyler Jensvold fired a 229 finishing 19-over-par and in 18th place.
