    IT'S PLAYOFF TIME

What a night of basketball!  Central and Stevens both pulled out wins last night against Spearfish and Sturgis.  Spearfish kept it close in the first half against the Cobblers.  It definately could have gone either way, as the Spartans beat the Cobblers just last week by two points.  However, Central picked it up the second half and pulled out a big win by beating Spearfish by 18,  64-46.  Chelsey Biegler has been consistently strong offensively throughout the season.   Central does a nice job defensively as a team.  Their next stop?  Another matchup against RC Stevens.  Do I dare make another prediction?  Let me think about it.

Across town the Stevens Raiders were looking strong against the Sturgis Scoopers, but the Scoopers were not going down quietly.  They fought until the end, cutting down a substantial lead by the Raiders.  In the end it was the Raiders who came up with the win, beating the Scoopers 62-51.   Again it was the duo of Klapprodt and McCould who took control offensively; however, Alexis Kruse came alive this game and notched 14 points on the board.  As I've said in the past, it will take more than two players contributing offensively for the Raiders to continue their run.  It's nice to see Kruse show her stuff this game.  So that brings me to my prediction.......will it be the Cobblers or the Raiders that pull off the win next week?   I'm throwing out the Raiders by 2 points.  It will be a game to watch.
