WHAT A WIN!!  St. Thomas More makes it to the State A Tournament for the first time in school history, and they did it in a big way tonight, beating Pine Ridge Lady Thorpes 53-37.  It's always exciting watching a game with the stakes a little high, so to speak, and this one didn't disappoint.  The Lady Cavs lead throughout the game, but the Lady Thorpes always scratched their way back.

The STM Lady Cavs lead at half time 26-12.  The Lady Thorpes were plagued with turnovers early on in the game, as STM played excellent defense.  Friedel, for the Lady Cavs, held Phelps, of Pine Ridge, to just 3 points for the night.   Brewer, of Pine Ridge, found herself in foul trouble early in the game, which sent her to the bench longer than their coach might have liked.  More frustration set in for Coach Le Beaux, as he was called with a technical in the third quarter upset at the refs for what maybe should have been a foul.  Things just never came together for the Lady Thorpes, but they played hard, they had a great season, and they represented their school well.

In the end the STM Lady Cavs were lead by Caitlyn Duffy with 22 points, Friedel with 11, and Bri Arity with 8.  They all played strong both offensively and defensively, and deserve a chance at a State title.  Good luck, Lady Cavs, and keep up the good work!!
