    BHSU Athletics: Register Today! 29th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run set for April 13

    SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State University will host the 29th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run on Sunday, Apr. 13, 2014 with the day’s races scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. 

    The university will host the fundraising event in conjunction with the Lakota Omniciye Powwow, with all proceeds going to the Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Scholarship Fund. 

    There will be seven different age groups available to register.  All ages can participate in the one-mile walk; under 13 will be a half-mile run, and all runners 13 and up will have the option to run a 5K or a 10K in their division. 

    Awards will be given to the top-three overall individuals who come closest to their predicted times (no watches)!  The top three male and female finishers in each division will receive awards, and further awards and gift drawings will be presented at the registration site at the conclusion of the races. 

    Registration will cost $20 per person and will include a T-shirt.  

    Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Lyle Hare Stadium.  For entry forms please contact Melissa Christensen at 605-642-6460.  Persons with disabilities requesting accommodations for this event should contact Melissa Christensen at least 48 hours prior to the start of the races.
