NSU Women's Basketball: Wolves Announce 2014-15 Schedule

The 2014-15 Northern State women’s basketball schedule has been released and features 15 home games for the defending NSIC North Division Champions. The Wolves will also play 13 road contests during the season.

The Wolves will open November 8 with an exhibition contest as they will travel to play South Dakota State down in Brookings. The regular season kicks off at the Wayne State Tournament where NSU will play a pair of in-region foes in Northwest Missouri State November 14 and Nebraska-Kearney Nov. 15.

From there, Northern begins a huge seven-game homestand where they will play four non-conference opponents and begin NSIC play. The home opener is Nov. 19 when Jamestown comes to Wachs for a 6 p.m. contest. Nov. 21 Black Hills State comes to town for a 7 p.m. tip and NSU closes-out the non-conference slate with contests Nov. 23 against South Dakota Mines and Mayville State Nov. 25. The Wolves begin conference play the Saturday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 29) against MSU Moorhead at 5 p.m. U-Mary Dec. 5 and Minot State Dec. 6 finish the homestand for the Wolves.

The Wolves then close the month of December with three road contests at Minnesota Duluth (Dec. 12), St. Cloud State (Dec. 13) and Moorhead (Dec. 20). NSU opens the New Year with home contests Jan. 2 and 3 against Winona State and Upper Iowa, respectively. After four road games against Minot State (Jan. 9), U-Mary (Jan. 10), Southwest Minnesota (Jan. 16) and Sioux Falls (Jan. 17), the Wolves have four big home games to end the month of January.

North Division opponents Bemidji State and Minnesota, Crookston come to Aberdeen Jan. 23 and 24 before the Wolves host 2014 South Division Champion Minnesota State Jan. 30 and NSIC Tournament and Central Region Champion Concordia-St. Paul Jan. 31.

Feb. 6 the Wolves travel to face Augustana and will then play Wayne State Feb. 7. Northern will close-out its home slate Feb. 13 and 14 against St. Cloud State (6 p.m.) and Minnesota Duluth (5 p.m.), respectively.

NSU finishes the regular season at Minnesota, Crookston Feb. 20 and Bemidji State Feb. 21. The NSIC Tournament begins in late February with the first round being played at on-campus sites. If Northern finishes in the top four in the North Division, it will host a first round game.
