Northern will be hosting a Football Alumni Reunion Weekend Oct. 24-25 and all football alums are invited to celebrate Coach Heupel’s recognition. NSU has reserved a block of rooms for Oct. 24 and 25 at the following hotels:

Coach Heupel compiled a record of 44-33 in his seven seasons as the head man for the Wolves. His 44 victories at NSU are the fourth-most in program history. In 1999, Heupel led Northern to a 9-2 record overall and a perfect 8-0 mark in the NSIC, leading the Wolves to their first conference title since 1992.

Heupel also led the Wolves to their first post-season berth as an NCAA Division II school in 2004 with an appearance in the Mineral Water Bowl.

Prior to becoming the head coach at NSU, Heupel spent 11 seasons as the Wolves’ assistant head coach and defensive coordinator. Heupel graduated from NSU in 1980 with his bachelor’s degree and also received his master’s degree from Northern in 1983.
