    Augustana Women's Golf: Vikings ready for Mustang Invite this weekend

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana College women's golf team returns to the course this weekend participating in the Mustang Invite on Saturday and Sunday. The 36-hole tournament will be hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University at the Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn.
    The tournament is in its 17th year and will be played as a 5,935-yard par-72 course. Saturday's round will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start for round two on Sunday.
    Joining Augustana and Southwest Minnesota State will be Bemidji State, Central Missouri, Minnesota State, Minnesota Crookston, MSU Moorhead, Minot State, Northwest Missouri State, Sioux Falls, Upper Iowa and Winona State.
    Augustana is coming off a second-place finish at the Concordia-St. Paul Invite last weekend after shooting 54-over-par 630 (306-324). The Vikings finished just two strokes behind Concordia-St. Paul.
    Marisa Toivonen led Augustana with a fourth-place finish at the Concordia Invite. Toivonen shot a 77 in each round to finish 10-over-par 154. Toivonen currently leads all golfers in the NSIC with a 74.8 stroke average through four rounds this fall.
    Jennifer Pederson competed as an individual at the Concordia Invite last weekend and finished in a tie for sixth shooting a 12-over-par 156 (79-77). Katie Grevlos also competed as an individual last weekend and fired a 14-over-par 158 (78-80) to tie for 12th.
    Freshmen Emily Israelson and Sierra Langlie both rank tied for fifth in the NSIC with a 78.8 stroke average. Israelson earned second place at the Augustana Fall Invite to open the season before taking 17th at the Concordia Invite last weekend. Langlie delivered a third-place finish in her first collegiate tournament at Augustana's fall invite before tying for 15th last weekend.
