    BHSU Football: Yellow Jackets Travel to No. 17 Colorado Mines

    Full Game Notes

    Setting the Stage: After winning the opening game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season for the first time since being in the RMAC, the Yellow Jacketslook to make it two-in-a-row with a victory over No. 17 CO School of Mines. The Yellow Jackets forced seven turnovers enroute to a 40-14 victory over FortLewis College.

    Last Meeting: CO Mines dominated time of possession enroute to a 62-22 victory over the Yellow Jackets. Matt Brown was the starting quarterback for the Orediggers and threw for 380 yards with six touchdowns. Ward Anderson threw for164 yards and one touchdown while Drew Nielson rushed for another.

    About CO School of Mines: After being unranked in week one, the Orediggers moved into the national rankings in the second week of play before being ranked 17th nationally heading into the battle with Black Hills State. Justin Dvorak has a140 quarterback efficiency rating and averages 322.7 yards per game. He is alsothe team's leading rusher at 70.7 ypg. Tevin Champagne is second on the team inrushing at 66 ypg. Ty Young is the top receiver with 20 receptions, averaging 94.7ypg. On defense, Kole Kadavy leads the squad with 27 tackles including two sacksand an interception.

    Series History: CO Mines has won both meetings between the two schools and lead the series 2-0.

    Coverage: Yellow Jacket fans can catch Steve Ammerman on the callon The Eagle, 95.9 and 96.3 FM.Time and Temp: The five day outlook shows a high of 83 with sunny skies and ENEwinds at 6 mph. There is a 10% chance of rain.

    Home Sweet Home: The Yellow Jackets have a three-gamehome winning streak dating back to last season. This is the longestsuch streak since the since the 2008 season when the YellowJackets beat South Dakota Mines, Dakota State Universityand Valley City State.

    On a Roll: After dropping its first seven games last season,Black Hills State has now won four of its last five and five oftheir last seven games, dating back to a 48-45 victory over NewMexico Highlands on Nov. 2, 2013.

    Tops in the Nation: On the heels of four fumble recoveriesagainst Fort Lewis, the Yellow Jackets lead the nation with nine fumbles recovered. They are tied with Bloomsburg who alsohas nine.
