• Region 5A Championship

  The town of Salem hasn't been kind to Parkston Girls Basketball in recent years.  Two straight losses to Tri-Valley in the Region Championship had the Parkston fans on edge before the tip last night.  Facing a talented West Central team the Parkston Lady Trojans knew they would have their hands full.  The game started at break neck speed and the nerves for both teams was evident.  Turnovers...

  We decided to travel down to Wagner last night to catch the District 10A GBB Championship between Wagner and Parkston.  A cant miss game this time of the year and no one in the gym was disappointed.  Wagner undefeated and ranked number 1 see sawed back and forth all first half with the Lady Trojans never able to burst a big lead and blow the game open.  Parkston would storm back each moment ...

  After more than two years of scoreless games and disappointing football seasons the Parkston Trojans have shown signs of life here in 2011.  Starting out 0-2 and with hopes fading fast the Trojans have responded by going 3-1 in their last 4 games and scoring more points in one game, a 51-0 victory over St Francis, then they had the previous 2 years combined.  There are still vast impr...

• Fist Full of Remote Control

  A couple unseen chinks in the chain and the Hobo didnt get to make his yearly pilgrimage to the State Tourney this year.  Instead I'm stuck at home.  Don't feel one bit sorry folks, because stuck at home this time of year is just what the Doctor ordered!  With the NCAA Tourney now showing every game on TV and my local cable provider broadcasting all 3 State Tournaments there...

• Girl's District 10A

  The Parkston Lady Trojans stopped upset minded Bon Homme here in Parkston 57-46 to claim the District 10A Championship.  This is Parkston's second straight District Championship and will move on to play Tri-Valley in a rematch of last years Region Championship won by Tri-Valley.  Bon Homme was able to slow down Parkston's star Junior Marie Malloy, but it was her surrounding cast that stepped ...   

• A month's worth of Groundhog Day's

  This past month has been another whirlwind tour for the Hobo.  A family vacation sent me to the beautiful Islands of Oahu and Maui for nearly two weeks,  Everyday waking up in paradise is the same thing.  80 degrees, little wind and the smell of the ocean is enough to beat the homesick blues away from any mind.  My adventure in Hawaii will live with me forever and I hope to post a few pics ...

  I missed you friends of the feathered!  A family Vacation to Hawaii has kept me away from SD hoops for the past couple weeks, so im out of the loop.  On the other hand I have a July tan in early February and stories to last a lifetime.  Im glad to be back in the great state of the land, and look forward to this weekends DWU Tiger Classic in Mitchell.  I will post a few pics from the journey...   

• Hanson Classic Review

  After 12 straight hours in the Palace and a day to recover im still sore from sitting in those bleachers, but it was all worth it.  All the games came down to the 4th quarter with a couple ending in game winning shots.  The Hobo was lucky enough to get some good footage.  It was good seeing all of my old and new friends at the Corn Palace.  Good Luck to all of you through the rest of the se...   

• Wake Up the Echoes

  Through the wind, snow and ice of a blizzard I trekked up to Mitchell Thursday to catch an event unscene before in South Dakota.
