    Season Preview

Coach Wammen gave SDSB the following season preview information:

What is your team outlook for 2011-2012?

We return 3 starters and 3 key reserves from last years squad that finished 22-4 and placed 8th place in the state tournament.  We will be looking to build upon last seasons success.  Our conference will be very competitive this season with Faith and Dupree being the early season favorites.  We will be looking to play tough man to man defense night in and out which will hopefully allow us to be in every game we play.

Which of your players do you expect to have the most "impact" this year?

6-1 Jr. Guard Ckyler Floyd- Floyd was a 1st team all-conference player last year for us.  He averaged 18.5 ppg and is very aggressive towards the basket.  Ckyler played a lot of basketball this summer and will be looked upon to be the leader of our ball club.

6-1 Sr. Forward Chek Giannonatti- Chek averaged 8ppg and 6.5 rpg last season.  Chek is an extremely hard worker and has amazing athletic ability.

5-11 Jr. Guard Jess Feist- Jess averaged 13.4 ppg and 5.6 apg last season.  Feist is a very good point guard and has a nice outside shot.

6-4 Sr. Center J.W. Helms- JW will step into the starting line-up at the Center position this year.  JW put in a lot of time this summer and we are expecting a big season from him this year.

Other Returning Letterwinners- Sr. Whit Brown, So. Steven Koch, So. Julius High Bear and So. Kyler Baier

Which teams will be your toughest competition?

We really strengthened our basketball schedule this season with the addition of 3 new games.

Key New games:  Spearfish, Beach, ND and Moorcroft, Wy

Non-Conference: Bowman, ND and Hettinger/Scranton, ND

Conference: The top competition in our conference will be Faith and Dupree.

Which new players do you anticipate on your 2011-2012 roster?

6-4 Jr. Forward Kruze Robinson- Kruze will make an immediate impact on our varsity this season.  He has good strength and moves extremely well for his size.

Harley Mollman, Dalton Hurst, Max Teigen, Billy Parfrey and Dalton Jenkins

    Harley Mollman and Kruze Robinson

Chek Giannonatti, Ckyler Floyd and Jess Feist
