    Season Preview

Coach Anderson gave SDSB the following season preview information:

What is your team outlook for 2011-2012?

We are going to be young and inexperienced this upcoming season. We only return 4 letterwinners of which none where full time starters. We have a good group that is eager to learn the game and a very solid freshman crew. I am very excited about the upcoming season and the challenges that it brings forth to the Lemmon Cowboys.

Which of your players do you expect to have the most "impact" this year?

Raymond Frank is a player that really came into his own at the end of last season. He was our sixth man last year and really gave us some huge minutes when we needed him. I look for Raymond to take on more of a leadership role with this team as he will be asked to do a lot for us. Cody Schopp and Tyler Sigvaldsen were part-time starters for us last year, that will be expected to play huge minutes for us this upcoming season. Cody is a guard that understands the game really well and see the floor really well, must contribute more on the offensive end of the floor for us to be successful. Tyler is as undersized as they come for a forward at only 5-9" he often times played guys much bigger than him, but Tyler is a big, strong kid that understands the game too. He uses his body well and is a good rebounder for his size. He will be asked to score more for us as well this year. Bo Beer is the only other kid with any varsity experience. He is a great shooter. He needs to be more confident with his ball handling abilities as he will be asked to play the point some for us this year as well. Bo knows the game really well and understands what he has to do to make the team better.

Which teams will be your toughest competition?

Faith is going to be loaded this year as they return everybody off of a good team from last year. They will be hard to beat. Harding County will also be a good team with three great athletes. Dupree is going to be the favorite to beat in the other District I believe. They return a good group of athletic kids that really play well as a team.

Which new players do you anticipate on your 2011-2012 roster?

Cash Hetzel is a 6'2" junior that has really impressed me in the first few days of practice. He is a big strong kid that really jumps well. Shay Oliver is a very athletic sophomore who could get a lot of substantial minutes at the varsity level. He needs to be confident in his ability and focus on the game on the floor. Other players include: Leif Bakken-Sophomore, Darin Maier-Sophomore, Troy Storm-Sophomore, Tyler Heil-Freshman, Carson Schnell-Freshman, TIm Morgan-Freshman, Colby Hetzel-Freshman, Justin Boeckel-Junior, Nathan Boeckel-Freshman, Brandon Buer-Freshman, Daven Huber-Senior.
