    BHSU FB: Hebel Earns Preseason All-America Honors

    SPEARFISH, S.D. - Black Hills State University rising junior Drew Hebel has been named Preseason All-American by Street & Smith's Magazine as part of its annual college football preview.

    Hebel had a standout year in 2016, leading NCAA Division II in interceptions, being named First Team All-America by five different entities and earning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. The Broomfield, Colorado, native led the nation with nine interceptions and defended 17 passes. The 11-game starter for BHSU totaled 49 tackles as a defensive back including 24 solo.

    The Yellow Jackets open 2017 with back-to-back home games, September 2 at noon and September 9 at 1 p.m.
