    BHSU Rodeo: Women's Rodeo Places Sixth at CNFR

    CASPER, Wyo. - The Black Hills State University rodeo team concluded its season Saturday at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming. The women's team finished sixth overall while Samantha Jorgenson earned the Reserve All-Around Champion with 143.3 points. The men's team placed 56th overall.

    The Yellow Jackets concluded with three top-10 finishes led by sophomore Carlee Johnston in the goat tying and a fourth place finish. Johnston timed in with a 6.8 in the short go, the third fastest of the round. She totaled a 26.8 over four runs placing her in a tie for fourth place.

    Jorgenson, a senior, earned a fifth place finish in the team roping as she teamed up with Chandler Comfort of Mid Plains Community College for an 11.5 in the short-go. The duo totaled a 37.7 over four runs for the fifth place finish.

    Carson Johnston garnered a seventh place finish in the steer wrestling after compiling a 7.0 in the short round to total a 25.1 over four runs.

    Black Hills State capped off the week-long event with Jorgenson receiving a ring for winning the third-go of the breakaway roping. She tied a facility record with a 1.9 in the third go.
