    SD Mines MBB: Hardrocker Men's Hoops Inks Guard From Wisconsin

    RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men’s basketball program continues to solidify its roster for the upcoming 2017-18 season as Hardrocker head coach Jason Henry recently announced the addition of Ralen Brown to the squad.

    Brown is a 6-foot-3-inch, 165-pound, guard from Milwaukee, Wis., who will join the team as a freshman after ending his high school career at Dominican High School in Milwaukee.

    “Throughout high school I was blessed with the opportunity to win two state championships and also break thestate record for the most consecutive state championships (five),” Brown said.

    Brown has earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior and is a two-year starter on the state championship teams. During his senior season, Brown averaged 15.2 points, 3.1 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game.

    “We are extremely excited to have a scholar-athlete like Ralen as a member of the Hardrocker Basketball Family. The successes he and his high school team have experienced is phenomenal,” Henry said. “Ralen has a great work ethic and plays with a fierce competitive edge. With has an infectious personality, smile and abilities, Ralen is sure to be a fan favorite. He is an outstanding individual player but also is able to make the players around him better.”

    While attending SD Mines, Brown will major in Industrial Engineering.

    Founded in 1885, the SD Mines is a science and engineering research university, offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. SD Mines offers challenging curriculum, personal attention, and great internships at a price families can afford.
