BHSU MBB: Dukic inks name to Yellow Jackets

SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Black Hills State men's basketball team has announced the signing of Sava Dukic, head coach Jeff Trumbauerannounced on Wednesday.

Dukic, from Belgrade, Serbia, is a 6-1 guard. He averaged 15.5 points per game, 5.9 assists per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, and 2.1 steals per game during his prep career in California. During his senior year, Dukic averaged 21.4 ppg and 7.2 apg. He wrapped up his high school playing days as the all-time leading scorer and assists leader at San Gabriel Academy.

"We are very excited to add such a quality player and young man like Sava Dukic to our program. He has a very high I.Q. for the game of basketball, a big motor, and is an absolute gym rat. Sava is going to add a lot of value to our team on and off the court. His game is complete and I highly anticipate him developing into a tremendous leader," said coach Trumbauer. "Four years ago he left everything behind and said goodbye to his family and friends to pursue his dream of playing basketball in the States. What he has accomplished in that time in the classroom and on the court is very impressive and a testament to his work ethic and determination to succeed. I fully anticipate that Sava will continue on the path he has been on, and with that being said, he will have a great career as a Yellow Jacket."

Dukic, the son of Sanja and Bozidar, plans to major in economics and finance at BHSU.
