BHSU MBB: Geuke (Sturgis) added for next year

SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Black Hills State University men's basketball team has added Dawson Geuke as an additional signee for the 2018-19 season, head coach Jeff Trumbauer announced recently.

Geuke is a native of Sturgis, S.D. The 6-0 guard served as the captain of Sturgis Brown High School during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, earning First Team All-Black Hills Conference all three years, as well. He played in the Northern Hills All-Star Game following his senior season after averaging 13.1 points per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 3.4 rebounds per game. Throughout his prep career, Geuke scored 999 points, shooting 35% from three-point range during his career.

"We are excited to add local talent to our roster for next year in Dawson Geuke, who had an excellent high school career at Sturgis. What jumped out to me was how much he loves the game and his high understanding of how to play," said coach Trumbauer. "Dawson has proven that he has the ability to shoot the ball at a high level which is something we would like to continue to improve on with our team. He is a very bright young man with a great head on his shoulders. Dawson will be a welcomed addition to the program and will undoubtedly aid in the ongoing development of the culture of our program."

Geuke, the son of Lori and Ryan, plans to major in business at Black Hills State.
