    BHSU FB: Jackets announce 2018 schedule

    SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Black Hills State University football team has recently announced is 2018 schedule.

    The Yellow Jackets will have five home games and six away games, opening the year on the road at Chadron State College on September 1. BHSU will be looking to win its season opener for the third consecutive year.

    On September 8, BHSU come home for the first time, hosting Colorado School of Mines for Family Day. 

    The Green and Gold then go on the road for two games, traveling to Adams State on September 15, and Fort Lewis on September 22.

    The Yellow Jackets meet Dixie State on September 29 at 1 p.m., for Swarm Days. They then travel to Rapid City to take on South Dakota Mines in the Battle for the Homestake Trophy. BHSU will attempt to defeat its rival for the second consecutive year on October 6 at 6 p.m.

    Returning home, the Yellow Jackets welcome New Mexico Highlands on October 13, and Colorado Mesa on October 20.

    BHSU travels to Western State on October 27, before coming home for Senior Day against CSU-Pueblo on November 3.

    The Green and Gold wrap up the season on the road in a nonconference matchup against Robert Morris University on November 10.

    "After only playing 10 games last season, we're very excited to get back to an 11 game schedule with the addition of our nonconference opponent Robert Morris University," said head coach John Reiners.

    The Yellow Jackets are coming off a year in which they won a double-overtime game, defeated South Dakota Mines, and held an opponent scoreless for the first time since 2012.
