    SD Mines WBB: Lady 'Rockers Looking For Solid Weekend To Get Back In RMAC Hunt

    RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team will continue Rocky Mountain Athletic play at home this this weekend challenging Regis University Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and then will take on Colorado Christian University Saturday in a 3:30 p.m. showcase.

    The Lady Rangers are 7-5 on the season and sits in ninth place in the RMAC standings with a 3-4 mark. Regis has won three of their last five games, with wins coming against Chadron State College (81-68), UCCS (54-44), and New Mexico Highlands University (87-38). Their last two losses have come against Colorado School of Mines (65-60) and most recently CSU-Pueblo (85-75).

    Regis is ranked ninth in the conference, scoring 64.2 points per game and are allowing 59.2 points each night, which is sixth best in RMAC play.

    Majestie Robinson leads the Rangers in points averaging 13.3 per game and has 31 assists on the season. Robinson is followed by teammate Jaz'Myne Snipes who has 120 points this season and is averaging 10 points per game.

    Colorado Christian heads into the weekend with 6-7 overall record this season and are sixth in the RMAC standings with a 4-3 record. CCU has lost three of their last five games, their losses came against Colorado School of Mines (71-36), UCCS (74-53) and CSU-Pueblo (80-67). Their two wins came against MSU Denver (73-71) and most recently New Mexico Highlands (71-55).

    Senior guard Jordan Baer leads the Cougars in minutes played (452) and points scored (259). She is the RMAC's second leading scorer averaging 19.9 points per game. Baer is followed my teammate Sarah McGinley who averages 13.1 points per game. The Hardrockers have met Colorado Christian 8 times in RMAC play, the Lady Rockers lead the series 6-2.

    The 'Rockers enter weekend play ranked 14th in the conference standings with a 1-6 RMAC record and 4-7 overall mark. The league is still wide open and two wins this weekend could potential vault them way up in the standings. They are currently just three games out of the Top 8.

    SD Mines has the No. 11 offense in the RMAC scoring 59.7 points per game and the 'Rocker defense is ranked third in the conference, giving up 58.6 points each time out.

    Senior Taylor Molstad leads the Hardrockers, scoring 10 points a game while Sami Steffeck is averaging 8.5 ppg and Cooper Courtney cashes in for 8.2 ppg.  Anna Haugen paces the squad in rebounds, pulling down 7.5 rpg. She is currently the eighth leading rebounder in the RMAC with 90 total.
