SDSU WBB: Back Home for One

The South Dakota State women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Frost Arena Saturday when it hosts North Dakota at 2 p.m.

Saturday's game sponsor is Sanford Health. Additionally, the upcoming contest features #BeatType1 Diabetes day at Frost Arena as the Jackrabbits, Summit League and Sanford Health team up to raise awareness.

SDSU enters Saturday's game atop The Summit League standings with a 9-1 record and a 17-6 overall mark. The Fighting Hawks are sixth with a 5-6 league record and are 10-14 overall.

The Jackrabbits won their seventh consecutive game with a 74-65 win at Oral Roberts Feb. 2. Summit League Player of the Year candidate Macy Miller led four players in double-digit scoring with 16 points.

North Dakota snapped a five-game losing streak with a 69-68 win at Omaha and a 70-58 victory over in-state rival North Dakota State Thursday.

Saturday's game is the 67th meeting between the Jacks and Fighting Hawks. North Dakota leads the series 41-25, but SDSU has won the last four games in the series.

    Beat Type 1 Diabetes
The Summit League and Sanford Health are teaming up to bring awareness to type 1 diabetes. Saturdays doubleheader at Frost Arena marks SDSU's inaugural #BeatType1 promotional game.

Currently, there are 1.25 million Americans battling type 1 diabetes. While the condition occurs at every age and in every race, most of those diagnosed are children. More than 70,000 children under the age of 14 are newly diagnosed with this life-changing condition each year.

Fans in attendance can visit a promotional table in Frost Arena to learn more about the promotion, answer trivia questions for prizes, or consult with medical professionals on-site from Sanford Health.
