Gottlob (MCM) commits to DWU for 2018-19 season

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team is pleased to announce the addition of Natalie Gottlob to the roster for the 2018-19 season.

Gottlob was a three-year starter for McCook-Central High School and finished her career with 543 points and 456 rebounds. She shot 69 percent from the free-throw line and 51 percent from the field in her career.

The Salem, S.D., native is fourth in school history in points and second in school history in rebounds. She was a three-time Big East Conference champion as well as guiding the Fighting Cougars to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 state basketball tournament.

Thanks to her performance on the court, Gottlob was named BEC Second Team twice and won the MCM’s Hardest Worker award. She finished her career with the highest free-throw percentage in school history as well as finishing tied for most rebounds in school history.

Complimenting her hard work on the court, Gottlob was just as impressive in the classroom. She was named Academic All-State once, Regent Scholar once, named to the National Honors Society twice and was an ‘A’ Honor Roll member all four years of high school.

In addition to basketball, Gottlob also participated in volleyball for four seasons and competed in cross country and track for five years. Natalie is the daughter of Pat and Laura Gottlob and plans to major in nursing.
